Moon Aoud waxes and wanes like the moon, contrasting the freshness of a sharp, rich rose with the dry, resinous qualities of oud and other perfume notes whose facets echo oud's aridity: vetiver, patchouli, and leather.  Moon Aoud opens with a gorgeous rose that hints at neroli or orange blossom, making it even sharper and fresher. But before rose can take over, rooty saffron and a soft oud temper this freshness — cloaking the irrepressible rose, like a bright moon, with their dark mystery.  Vetiver, patchouli and leather continue on in the dry theme, but after Moon Oud's been on your skin for about an hour, a subtly sweet amber and sandalwood rise up like the soft aura around a crescent moon's cold, sharp angles. Only a whisper of oud remains in Moon Aoud's dry down, and you're left with a rosy, woody, powdery finish. montale moon aoud would be perfect for rose lovers who are a little intimidated by oud but are curious about it as a nuance note.
